We prefer Press Quality PDF files. We also accept the following file formats: .eps / .ai / .jpg / .jpeg / .tif / .tiff . If you are submitting multiple file types, we recommend sending them altogether as a compressed file (such as a ZIP file.) If you will be sending us an InDesign file (.indd), you will need to package all links and fonts then send us the packaged folder.
Once your files are prepared you may upload them to us or email them if your file size permits. Upload time is dependent on file size and your internet connection speed. Please be patient, upload may take a couple of minutes to complete. You will see a confirmation page when upload has completed.
Preparing Your Electronic Files for Print
When submitting your project to us for print, please send press quality PDF files. If you want us to make some adjustments, corrections, or just some “touch up” to your file(s), then we can work using Adobe’s Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Documents created in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher will have to be reviewed for their usability. Then, such files will need to be converted into our prepress workspace environment. If you are using QuarkXpress or Corel Draw, please save or export your document as a press ready PDF for us to print from. Fonts should also be embedded in the press quality PDF to be submitted. When necessary, as in instances where certain fonts cannot be embedded, it will be necessary to outline fonts or supply us with those fonts.
If your project will be printed with spot colors, use the Pantone Matching System (PMS). For files that are to be printed in process color (CMYK, 4 color process), it is recommended that RGB images be converted to CMYK prior to submitting. Be aware that converting from RGB to CMYK may cause a shift in color. Make sure that any black text is not a build of CMY or RGB. Charges may apply for us to make these conversions.
If you will be submitting native InDesign files to us, it is best to package your files with the in-document collection feature in InDesign. Doing this will gather all links and fonts needed for production. If you will be uploading these files to us via our website, please compress the files in one folder before uploading. If you are sending rather large files, totaling more than 100MB, it may be best to break your files into smaller submissions for efficiency.
If you have any questions about submitting or preparing files to us, you may contact our prepress department at (831) 758-9040 or by email at email@example.com.
